The Millennial leadership programme that
empowers managers and enables them to engage,
equip and retain the future leaders.

The millennials of today have a different mindset than the generation before them. They can’t be kept inside a box. They want to be connected to their purpose. They’re often not as concerned about having a career and making money as they are about changing the world. They want to live a life that matters.

My name is Errol Lawson and I work with leaders and teams to help them turn their lives around and create the lives and results they REALLY want.

For over 20 years I’ve life coached and trained young people and adults, from the prison cell to the boardroom and everything in between. I’m a local church Pastor and a certified corporate governance practitioner and international speaker. I’m the best selling author of three books including my most recent book “The 5 Core Abilities of Highly Effective Leaders”. Each year I speak to upwards of 20,000 people on the principles of leadership development and personal growth.

Organisations have to adapt their culture and engagement strategies to accommodate this new breed of leader or they simply will not be able to retain them. They will join the organisation but they will not stay very long.

It is estimated that millennials will make up 75% of the global workforce by 2025. Harnessing the talent and loyalty of the millennials in your organisation is absolutely critical. If you don’t they will find somewhere else to go and the process of you having to recruit new people is costly. In addition, you risk your organisation becoming irrelevant.

The solution is to engage with these leaders and help them to discover their purpose and how they can align their purpose with the culture mission and vision of your organisation. We also have to create a culture that is flexible and accommodating.

The four key areas that are important to this generation are:

Purpose – They want to discover their purpose, they want to be sure that they are living on purpose and that their purpose is aligned to the work that they do.
Impact – They don’t want to simply exist, they want to change the world for the better.
Recognition – They want to be awarded and recognised for the contribution that they make to the world.
Fun – They want to do work that they enjoy and be a part of a fun organisational culture.

You simply will not be able to compete with the other organisations in your industry that have cottoned on to this and have already started taking action to engage with and develop leaders among their Millenials.

‘Jasiri’ is Swahili for ‘brave, courageous, bold, daring’. The ‘Jasiri’ leadership programme is a 5 day embedded programme designed to enable Millenialls to leverage their strengths and explore their leadership potential. Together we can create an environment and a culture that will keep your best performers engaged and performing to their potential.

Day 0 - Preamble workshop: Understanding the Millennial Mindset

We live in a manic society where most people’s lives are on permanent fast-forward. The modern workplace is typified by a never ending regime of restructures and budget cuts. Uncertainty prevails. The only things on the up are Government initiatives and number of hours worked! Outside of work, there are family pressures. And society. And the traffic. Oh, and don’t forget the weather..!

At the same time, we are living in some of the most amazing and opportune times in human history. Technological advancements are transforming the way that we relate to each other and how we work. The future leaders of our organisations think and view the world in very different way to the generation that went before them, and as leaders we need to be able to adapt and understand the way this generation thinks so we can build organisations for the future.

1996 – 2006 – The Past
The era the the reality TV show was born. Weekly magazines became the new thing. The Gen X era. Still pre digital and in the last days of print media as we knew it. CD’s cassette tapes and walkmans were still around. Things are changing rapidly

2006 – 2016 – The Present day
Enter the digital age. Social media has hit in a massive way. Blogging and Vlogging are seen as primary audience engagement tools. People are now becoming youtube ‘famous’. Big brands are fading away while individual leaders arise with their own personal brands. Ted talks as an example have made many leaders and entrepreneurs instantly famous.

2016 – 2026 – The Future
The next generation are interested in becoming world leaders, they want to make a big difference in the world. They want to live their lives on purpose. Building a business or organisational culture off a purpose is now a given. There is an awakening of consciousness. More and more celebrities are becoming business leaders. The birth of online global experts. Saturated market spaces mean that more differentiation is needed and people are going to want to know how to distinguish themselves. There is going to continue to be an increasing hunger for mentorship

The Antidote

This 2 hour JASIRI Leadership workshop for the senior leaders provides an opportunity for senior leaders to get an overview of what defines a millennial mindset, what distinguishes them and what drives them. This workshop uses cutting edge research to explore how you can develop the culture of your organisation in a way that will enable you to design and build an organisation for the future.

The workshop provides an overview of the embedded programme and helps to ensure that Key leaders from all levels are aware and onboard with the process. We will share some of the ‘secrets’ of culture transformation, focusing on learning new habits of thinking and behaviour that will sustain personal ‘brilliance’. It is about the ‘whole you’ and, as such, is applicable in and out of work.

Too many people are driving their businesses or organisations on cruise control, accidentally getting left behind. This workshop is a big wake-up call. The rate of technological change and advancement is exponential. If you decide to take action, your doing so could have a positive ripple effect for generations to come. The aim therefore is to challenge current habits and ways of thinking, to re-energise and enthuse staff for the challenges that lie ahead.

Day 1The SOAR Experience

Imagine sleeping better at night knowing you FINALLY delivered a CONFIDENT PRESENTATION in your office with NO STAGE FRIGHT and the response was “WOW, he/she is so CONFIDENT!!!”

How would that make you feel?

Are you frustrated about not being a “good enough” presenter on stage? Does public speaking scare you? Could this fear potentially stop you from going to the next level in your career or business? Are you READY to become a CONFIDENT COMMUNICATOR and make an impact on the lives of your audience members? Then the information below can CHANGE YOUR LIFE, forever!!!

Picture yourself walking off stage…The audience is jumping to their feet in appreciation of YOUR powerful presentation. Now they want to find out more about you, they want you to be their LEADER. Your manager or team members give you a pat on the back because of your confident and excellent presentation. How would that make you feel?

Imagine. . .

“Errol was an engaging trainer, the session was very well structured and executed, and I believe all my team benefited from the session.”

“Everybody communicates but only a few people connect” John Maxwell

You may already be a good speaker AND you may regularly give presentations, but do you really know how to CONNECT with your audience members every time you speak & present?

Do you?

There are many brilliant entrepreneurs with great ideas but when they get on stage to pitch they fall apart. You’ve seen them. I have seen them too. Boring Powerpoints, rambling on, no engagement with their audience, jokes you’ve heard before and all that. You really feel for them.

To be an effective leader you need to learn how to become a CONFIDENT COMMUNICATOR. You need HONEST AND CONSTRUCTIVE feedback. Practical, advanced public speaking tips, tools, and techniques that you can use to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Be it your team members, board members, senior management team, your potential clients or your general audience members.

You don’t need a boring public speaking course or theoretical presentation skills training class if you want to grow in CONFIDENCE and achieve RESULTS.

You need a practical experience where your trainer can help you to MASTER your speaking and presentation skills in a practical way.

That’s what I am going to teach you on Day 1 of the workshop, a step by step journey on how to S.O.A.R. Speak Out And Resonate with your audience. People constantly feedback to us that our workshop is a 10/10 experience. The feedback has been amazing. I am so thankful. We do our best to make your learning experience fun and interactive.

Day 2The 5 Core Abilities of Highly Effective Millennial Leaders

Ability 1
Visionary Leadership: Learn how to build your vision and add value to the organisation
It’s time to do a complete inventory of all the experience and education that you bring into your organisation. Rather than promoting all of your tools, which can be confusing for those around you and can lead to an identity crisis for you, we’ll draw a singularly focused personal branding platform from your unique collection of experiences and who you are, and we’ll use that to design and communicate a personal brand that is uniquely YOU! use staff for the challenges that lie ahead.

Ability 2
Team Management: Learn how to get the best out of the people you lead
There are two distinct types of leaders. Multipliers and Diminishers. Multipliers are like that favourite teacher you had in school that was able to bring out all of your potential. That you enjoyed being around because they inspired you to be greater than you thought was possible. A diminsher is like that teacher that you didn’t get along with at all. It’s time to analyse what your team leadership skills are currently like and discover how you can become an even greater multiplier to the people around you.

Ability 3
Finance Governance: Learn foundational principles for wealth management
One of our primary goals as leaders is usually to make sure that our organisation is financially secure and thriving. In their haste to solve their organisation’s money troubles, however, many leaders make a huge mistake: they neglect attending to their own personal financial situation. Why does this present such an issue? After all, shouldn’t the leader’s primary focus be directed toward the funds and people that they are responsible for at work? Of course! But not even the most effective leader can perfectly divorce their personal life from their business or professional life. The simple fact remains that the habits you create at home will follow you into your workplace. If you are irresponsible with your personal income, you will be irresponsible with your organisation’s funds as well-and vice versa.

Ability 4
Delegation: Learn to prioritsise and focus on key activities
Being able to focus on your key priorities in a world full of distraction is one of the big challenges for millenials. Thankfully there are effctive tools and mindsets that we can use to help us do this better. The other barriers to effective delegaton that we have to overcome are understanding different cultures, building trust, non competiveness and knowing our strengths. We will work through all of these things.

Ability 5
Confidence 101: Learn to defy self doubt and lead with conviction
One of the biggest struggles that we face as leaders is the question of our identity. We live in an identity-driven society, where everyone is obsessed with trying to answer questions like “Who am I?” and “What is my purpose in life?” We all know that it’s easy to be confident when everything is going well. There’s really no reason not to have faith if you’re happy, healthy, and successful in your career. After all, the proof that you’re doing well can be seen right in front of you! But what about when the path isn’t quite so obvious? How do you respond when you go through a major life change-perhaps a change that you didn’t anticipate or desire? Even if you do everything right, situations won’t always turn out the way that you expect. You need to develop resilience, we teach you how do that.

Day 3Design The Strategic Action Plan

The objective of the JASIRI leadership programme is to equip staff to be able to embed positive attitudes and mindsets across the whole organisation. We introduce ‘The JASIRI Leadership programme’ into your organisation and then the project is handed over to your chosen delegates to design and deliver their own programme, creating a ripple of positivity that will go way beyond the entrance to the building.

Purpose – They want to discover their purpose, they want to be sure that they are living on purpose and that their purpose is aligned with the work that they do. How will they help others to discover their purpose and help them to align their purpose with the vision and mission of the organisation?
Impact – They don’t want to simply exist, they want to change the world for the better. What can your staff do as individuals or as a team to contribute to one of the UN Global goals?
Recognition – They want to be awarded and recognised for the contribution that they make to the world. What can we do to recognise the contributions of the talented people In our organisation?
Fun – They want to do work that they enjoy and be a part of a fun organisational culture. How can we create a fun culture that is aligned with our values and vision?

The key to embedding the principles that we teach over the course of the programme is to involve your staff from the start and to use our robust evaluation process to demonstrate your success to senior leaders and stakeholders in or outside of the organisation.

Day 4The Audit

The BIG moment our independent JASIRI auditor visits the organisation to judge your progress. Remember, this is the staff presenting and providing evidence against their ‘Action plan’. The auditor will make a recommendation and your organisation will be awarded either an “Awesome” or “Well Impressed” outcome (lower grades are possible but our leaders’ commitment is to work with your staff until one of the top grades is achieved)

The Jasiri leadership programme is especially designed for…

  • Management Professionals who need an extra EDGE in their career and owners of SME’s that want to motivate their team to greater performance and results
  • Managers & Leaders who want to increase their influence within their organisation
  • Organisations that want to have a culture that enables them to attract and retain the best people.

So, what will you learn at the “JASIRI” Programme?
The aim is to leave a sustainable, long-term wellbeing ethos and a high performing culture driven by the staff themselves, that they cascade down and across the organisation. The ‘JASIRI’ embedded programme can be delivered to individual organisations or across multiple sites. The programme can be tailored to suit senior level leadership, middle managers or new recruits.

Your organisation will receive a full, inspection-friendly report, addressed to and written for the staff. It will highlight their successes and identify the actions needed to develop and sustain their achievement.

Hear from a few leaders we have worked with that WERE facing
some of the communication and leadership challenges
that you're currently facing:

  • “Errol delivered a highly engaging and very powerful session to UpRising’s Fastlaners participants. His honest and open approach helped our clients to draw on their personal experience to understand their skills and realise their ability to succeed. Building resilience and motivation isn’t an easy task, but Errol’s workshop really did just that and inspired participants to strive for the best and believe in their own self worth. I thoroughly recommended working with Errol and look forward to doing so again soon – thank you!”

    - Louise Belsom

National Programme and Grants Manager -
  • “Errol is an highly passionate, driven, motivated man of integrity. His style of leadership and delivery is authentic, creative and inspirational. When you come into contact with Errol, you are sure to be inspired and uplifted!”

    - Melissa Shervington

    Amity Properties -
  • “Errol delivered a workshop of ‘telling your story’ with some clients in a programme I was organizing. His input was perfect and hugely impactful. We provided Errol with a fairly broad brief around motivation and team building, and he was able to take this and tailor the perfect input for the group. They left motivated, more connected than they had ever been, and really fired up for their future. It was exactly what we as an organization wanted, and importantly the young people took so much from it. A joy to work with, and cannot wait to find ways to connect Errol with our programme again.”

    - Rys Farthing

Consultant at the Ocean Generation -
  • “Dear Errol,
I wanted to thank you for the amazing INSET session that you delivered at Sutton Girls on Tuesday. The tone was just right and not only was it inspiring at the time, it has had a big impact on staff- there is lots of talk about being a 2%er and ‘what would Errol say’. Your messages fitted well with my theme of encouraging growth mindset in the students and ourselves which I had shared with staff prior to your session. I am a huge believer in the mindset work of Carol Dweck and more recently the work of Brene Brown re ‘daring greatly’ and ‘rising strong’. I wanted to find out more so have ordered your leadership book and a couple of the ‘being brilliant’ books which I am looking forward to reading.

We will definitely be revisiting the happiness messages throughout the year and I hope you will be able to come back to do some further work with our staff and students.”

    - Dr Barbara Minards

    Headteacher -
  • “Errol is a great Motivational speaker and Leadership Coach per excellence. I can’t recommend him high enough.”

    - Ojele Ademu
