Fulfilling the Vision
“The following blog post is an excerpt from a new book by Errol Lawson called “The 5 Core Abilities of Highly Effective Leaders”. Errol is a business coach, best-selling author and youth pastor. The book is written primarily for the Christian community but readers from all beliefs can gain great insights from his writings.”
FULFILLING THE VISION
Receiving and developing your vision is one thing, but what about the long term? Unfortunately, life often gets in the way of all our best-laid plans, chipping away at our passion with little discouragements and distractions. If you want to bring your vision to fruition then you must strike a balance between keeping your eyes on your ultimate goal and adapting when circumstances change. This skill is one of the most distinctive marks of a great leader.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
Mike Robbins understands how hard it can be to actualise your vision. As the senior pastor of New Creation Church in Newquay and Redruth, Cornwall, Mike has spent the past two decades spreading his own vision of a charismatic, globally-minded church in the area. He’s also a con-summate encourager, who’s passionate about seeing the church reach its full potential and helping each individual believer fulfil their ultimate purpose for the Lord.
I recently had a fantastic conversation with Mike about the various struggles he has overcome to make his vision a reality. In this chapter, I’ll follow Mike through his career and ministry to point out some of the things that his journey can teach us about spreading our vision to others.
Let us encourage one another to receive visions and not be afraid to dream. Every one of us is designed to prosper and succeed! If we focus on what we want to achieve and commit to our plans, we will surely achieve our goals and breakthroughs! Do not be afraid to dream big!
Thank you for reading! Have a blessed day!
